Celebrating our 14th year anniversary in 2024-25, GFWC Dover Area Woman's Club is ready to really kick off a great year "Planting Seeds of Friendship and Service Throughout Our Community."  We're are always looking to welcome new members just like YOU!

We are long term Dover residents and we are newcomers. We are moms and grandmothers.  We are working women and active retirees.  Most of all we are friends and neighbors united on our diversity.  We share our love of volunteering together as a club, Living the Volunteer Spirit.  Our projects are as diverse as our members.  We support community service programs in Domestic and Sexual Violence Awareness and Prevention, Advocates for Children, Arts and Culture, Community Outreach, Education and Libraries, Environment and Health and Wellness and we advocate for legislative action and a million other projects in between. Together "We are GFWC".

As a proud member of the General Federation of Women's Clubs, our Dover Area Club combines forces with tens of thousands of members around the globe to think globally and act locally.  We are "Living the Volunteer Spirit" here in Dover where we partner with AMAZING local non-profits including Dover Children's Home, Dover 400th Anniversary, Dover Community Trail, Dover Food Pantry, End 68 Hours of Hunger, HAVEN, NH Children's Trust, NH Women Vote 100 and Riverside Nursing Home, Joe B. Parks Riverwalk Garden and Hope on Haven Hill.   And that's just a start of what we can do when you bring your energy to our club.

We meet at the Community Action Partnership of Strafford County (CAPSC) building at 577 Central Avenue, Dover, NH on the second Wednesday of each month at 6:30pm in the months of September through June.  We also meet once a month in the mornings for coffee.  While the weather cooperates we try to find locations that are "hidden Dover gems", often unknown by most of our members. We bring our own coffee and just relax and enjoy each other.  We also host a weekly walking club (open to everyone).   In good weather we walk the Dover Community Trail  where our club is an "Adopt A Trail" sponsor. In winter weather we head to the Mall to walk indoors to stay healthy and keep moving. Our Book Club is open to everyone.  Book selections are announced in advance of meetings which are held via ZOOM and often include the authors.

Our Facebook page is a great starting place to get to know us.  You'll find photos of our club in action, announcements and updates (like winter weather cancellations) and news from our local community and other GFWC clubs, our GFWC-NH state federation and GFWC International. Join us at a club meeting anytime.

Our new webpage has just launched at www.doverwomansclub.com with event notices, blogs, photos and lots more to come.
